Report: Former Ajax star is set to undergo medical and could join Manchester United’s tour in Melbourne

According to ESPN, Christian Eriksen is set to undergo medical and could join Manchester United’s tour in Melbourne.

Despite suggestions from Brentford boss Thomas Frank that the playmaker could still re-sign with the Bees, the Red Devils remain confident that Eriksen will become Erik ten Hag’s second signing as manager of Manchester United.

Speaking to Danish publication B.T., Brentford boss Frank revealed he is still “optimistic” and in regular contact with Eriksen.

“It may well be that right now it seems to be a different place than with us, but let’s see now.

“I have to be optimistic, but I also read newspapers. Let’s see what happens. I communicate with Christian, but we keep it to ourselves until he is either signed here or somewhere else.”

Eriksen has verbally agreed to sign a three-year contract with Manchester United after making his first transfer to the Premier League with Tottenham Hotspur in 2013 from Ajax.

The elegant midfielder’s introduction to the Brentford starting lineup had a stunning impact, and because to his contribution and influence, Frank’s team was able to safely escape the Premier League’s drop zone during their inaugural season.

The international player from Denmark is soon to have a physical and might travel with United to Australia. Eriksen could connect with his new manager and teammates in Australia even if he wasn’t a part of the traveling group that took off for Bangkok, Thailand, on Friday.

With progress on incomings proving hard to come by, the official signing of Eriksen would be a timely boost with Tyrell Malacia proving to be Ten Hag’s only signing so far.
