Fee Accepted & Terms Agreed: Chelsea take significant step complete the signing of 27-year-old world-class star

Chelsea have reportedly agreed on a deal with Manchester City for the probable transfer of Nathan Ake. The Netherlands international spent time at Stamford Bridge earlier in his career but didn’t get much playing time.

Since then, Ake has established himself in the Premier League with Bournemouth and Manchester City, however, it appears he may return to Chelsea for a second stint.

According to 90min, a significant step has been taken in talks, with Chelsea and City agreeing to a £45million fee for the 27-year-old, who looks ideal to give Thomas Tuchel an upgrade on his current defensive options.

Chelsea’s defense is a touch thin after Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen both departed on free transfers this summer, joining Real Madrid and Barcelona, respectively.

Ake has battled to establish himself at City, failing to start consistently for Pep Guardiola‘s team but looking solid when he has played.

Chelsea fans will undoubtedly welcome his return, and he might create a new-look defense alongside Kalidou Koulibaly.
