DONE DEAL: Bid Accepted & Terms Agreed – Club announce Manchester United player signing

According to the Manchester Evening News, Alex Telles of Manchester United has joined Sevilla on a season-long loan, the Andalusians have agreed to pay the Brazilian’s whole salary while he is in Spain.

Telles joined the Red Devils from FC Porto in the summer of 2020. The club has a deal with the 29-year-old through 2024. The Brazilian joins Sevilla, although there is no option for the Spanish club to buy him.

Telles’ first season at Manchester was unremarkable. Luke Shaw was Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first-team left defender for most of the season. In the 2020/21 Premier League season, the England international started 30 games.

Telles, on the other side, got sporadic opportunities. In the 2020/21 season, the Brazilian started just eight league games. As United competed in both the Champions League and the Europa League, the 29-year-old played a role in both competitions.

However, even after having the opportunity in the previous campaign to make a mark in a red shirt, Telles failed to take the opportunity to solidify his position. Fans haven’t seen enough defensively from the 29-year-old to consider him a nailed-on starter.
