Merseyside Police have stated that they are looking into an incident in which Cristiano Ronaldo is accused of shattering the phone of an Everton fan.
Ronaldo has subsequently apologized for his enraged ‘outburst’ in the Goodison Park tunnel and invited the offending fan to an Old Trafford match.
After the Red Devils’ 1-0 loss to Frank Lampard’s team on Saturday afternoon, the Portuguese superstar was enraged, and United are investigating the matter.
In a message on Twitter, Merseyside Police wrote: ‘@MerseyPolice can confirm that they’re carrying out an investigating following an incident at the #EVEMAN match at Goodison involving a player as they were walking off the pitch and will be speaking to all parties involved.’
