Barcelona might end up securing the services of their priority attacking a target at last, according to reputed Italian journalist Gianluigi Longari. The Catalan giants are inching closer to securing the services of the Leeds United forward following their latest bid, which reportedly matched Chelsea’s offer.
Raphinha has become one of the most highly sought-after attackers in Europe on the back of two brilliant campaigns with Leeds United.
The 25-year-old racked up 11 goals and three assists in 35 Premier League appearances. But that has meant that Leeds will lose Raphinha in the summer transfer window, with the biggest clubs in Europe, including Barcelona, setting their sights on him.
Barcelona’s interest had been sparked by the numerous uncertainties surrounding Ousmane Dembele’s future. The French international is apparently close to committing the next two years to the Blaugrana, despite the fact that he has not yet signed a new contract at Camp Nou.
Raphinha is still Barcelona’s top offensive target despite the fact that Dembele will shortly sign a new contract. If Raphinha joins Camp Nou during the summer transfer window, the Catalan giants are prepared to offload Memphis Depay. However, because of their financial position, they postponed making an offer to Leeds. As a result, Leeds had to give Barcelona a deadline in order for them to respond.
